JOIN US during the springtime in the eastern hardwood forest!

This year we are trying out a new conference format. We will be holding the Northeast Regional Conference in conjunction with the international Conservation Conference. Please mark your calendars to save the date now and start making plans to join us. This conference will have a strong focus on conservation in the context of a changing environment. We will be sending out an announcement to our many partners soon, particularly those that we interact with at the national and international level. Please help us reach your important regional and local partners by forwarding the announcement to them, and encourage them to attend. Provide us with their contact information and we will ensure that they receive future announcements also (and/or provide us with their contact information for those you would like us to invite). Read on!

The NatureServe Conservation Conference 2009 is an international training, education, and networking event for the environmental conservation community. Conservation leaders, thinkers, and doers come together for three days of education, discussion, idea exchange, and professional networking. This conference joins natural resource management professionals from the non-profit, government, and corporate sectors to learn from each other, share innovations, and discover useful opportunities for collaboration.

The Northeast Natural Heritage Conference focuses on knowledge exchange among the NatureServe Network members. Member programs from across the network are welcome, and those from the Northeast are strongly encouraged to bring as many staff as possible to facilitate productive working sessions on new developments in methodology, science, and technology, and data reconciliation across the region.

This year’s Conservation Conference will feature in–depth sessions with topics related to the theme — Conservation on the Move.

Anticipated featured sessions include:

  • Biodiversity in a Changing Climate
  • Increasing the Pace and Effectiveness of Conservation
  • Conservation in Linear Habitats
  • Science of Discovery
  • Tracking Biodiversity Information — Tools and Methods

NatureServe invites you to attend this conference and to contribute through presentations, tabletop exhibits, posters, and your presence.
